The Map generator won't allow me to cho0se a directory with the button simply not working

Hey so, I'm having an issue where the scale seems inaccurate. When I upload the finished image from the generator to Foundry VTT, the hexes don't line up proper, like the hexes are warped so they don't fit the VTT's hex grid.
EDIT: I've just now found and used the Foundry instructions (both in the file And the comments), and unfortunately they haven't worked.

1. Are you using Foundry V9, or V10?

2. If you’re using V10, was the world you’re using created prior to upgrading to V10?

Okay so, I didn't see your follow up answers along the thread, but I've found and used them so it's all fixed on my end! Thank you

i seem to be having an issue, when I try to launch the map generator, I do not get an exe file to launch, I am instead met by Lancer Map Generator.pck
and libnativedialogs.dll, and am not sure how to get it to work, which has made my purchase.. near useless.

the .exe should appear in the very same folder

i have been able to remedy the issue, it seems my first attempt to download must of corrupted/errored and it did not download everything

Hey, until recently the map gen worked fine, but now whenever I open it and try to select the map gen directory it just closes the window and reopens the same selection window, over and over.

I am also running into this issue, worked fine the first time, now it just does this.

Is there an option for transparent background?  This would make it much easier to print to blueprint/plan printers, which are much lower cost than full coverage printers for those of us who play in person.

there is not sadly, the map chungs all include a background

Just wondering if there's a recommended size of paper if you were going to print these?
Like, A3 or A2 even?

Love your work!

Ive never tried printing one I'm afraid!

So I had them printed at a local office supply store, Officeworks for those in Aus, and its a non-standard size, which is fine for them, they just trimmed the long edge for me.
Turns out slightly longer and narrower than A3.

But they work a treat, if you have somewhere capable of printing odd sizings

thats great! happy to hear that it worked out!

I absolutely love this tool, but one thing I have noticed is the foundry instructions are incorrect. I everything as the instructions say and it still it's way off. Is there an updated way to do it?

I believe there was a foundry update shortly after I uploaded this (of course), I dont use foundry myself but on discord. Try:

INTERPOINT MAP SETTINGS FOR FOUNDRY V10 GRID ALLIGNMENT
Grid Type - Hexagonal
Rows Odd
Grid size - 82 Image
Dimensions - 2876w 1525h
Offset Background - 43h 5v
Padding - 0.25

Let me know if that works out!

That worked! Thank you so much.

Edit: this comment is outdated, because this map generator is no longer the best tool for Lancer. See the Map Creation Tool:

I'm coming back to this page after using this tool for a few sessions because it is that. damn. useful.

Seriously, I cannot understate how much easier my session prep is now. There have been several times in my current campaign where I've had a really fun idea for a combat encounter, but only a small amount of free time until the next session. If this tool didn't exist, I would have simply disregarded those ideas in favor of something I already had prepared. But now that's not a problem.

Ralf deserves a ton of credit for everything he has contributed directly to the Lancer community, and this undoubtedly ranks as one of the most valuable tools available for this game. (In fact, I would go so far as to say this is *the* most valuable tool for Lancer GMs, aside from the paid version of the core book obviously.)

The Interpoint sitreps are also really fun, and really unique. They provide a lot more flexibility in tying combat encounters to the narrative of your games.

Hell yeah, completely agree!

Let's start our own fan club for Interpoint Station!

This looks like exactly what I need! Any chance of a Mac version in the future?

unfortunately there are no plans for a mac version, you can try running it via something like WINE but I haven't tried that out so I don't know if that works.

Ah, so it goes for us Mac folk. Well no worries, thanks for the info and still an awesome thing you've made!

This shit is AWESOME!

Really, I can not stress how useful these assets and generators are to myself. Hot damn.

This singlehanded saved my love of GMing LANCER. Not just because of how easy is to prepare the maps, but the tutorial to Foundry was something that should be necessary in everything like that!

Thank you very much. The new sitreps are the icing on the cake, or the cherry on the cake. The fillings on the cake? Well, the point is, the cake is revived and tastier. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

The problem is...I keep wanting more! Any chance of a Space Base, or even space assets?

they are planned for future expansions! Glad you like the program :)
